CRAASH: the Coalition for the Revitalization of Asian American Studies

CRAASH (the Coalition for the Revitalization of Asian American Studies at Hunter) is an Asian American student group based at Hunter College of the CUNY (City University of NY) system. CRAASH was founded in 2006 when the Hunter College administration attempted to abolish the Asian American Studies Program.

Our Mission
Our original mission was not only to restore the minor, but also to inform the student body about the importance of interdisciplinary studies to our community. Over the years, CRAASH has moved forward in dedicating itself to raising awareness of issues that pertain to Asian and Pacific Islander Americans. Currently, we are advocating for the creation of an Asian American Studies Major at CUNY and for the stability of the Asian American Studies Program at Hunter College.
